First of all, we just want to say a HUGE thank you to every single one of you who participated in our Practice and Efficiency Survey. It’s so encouraging that our community of administrators, managers, surgeons, clinicians and other OMS staff were so willing to help us out. Your responses are crucial to building software that supports you. Plus, every survey submission generated a $5 donation to America’s Tooth Fairy: NCOHF, which means you helped vulnerable children receive critical dental care that would be otherwise completely inaccessible.
The Practice and Efficiency Survey asked you to reflect on your satisfaction with your current practice administration software systems, and what else an administration software system could do for you. (Sidebar, all of your ideas were amazing and you all should definitely consider careers in software development.) MaxilloSoft is a company that develops software and plugins for Oral Maxillofacial Surgeries, and so keeping up to speed on what real clinicians and administrators want from their software helps us to make tools that will ultimately benefit you.
But we don’t want to keep you waiting any longer… what did the responses say? We promised we would share the stats with you, and here they are!
You gave an average score of 6.9/10 when it came to using your current administration software with ease. 25% of you gave a score of 8/10 and only 5.6% of you thought that your current software was only worth a 2/10. So a lot of you are finding it pretty easy to use your software, though there’s always room for improvement… Amazing news!
With an average score of 7.8/10, this looks like many of you trust your software to work for you in every situation, with 30.6% of you answering that your software scored 8/10 for reliability. 5.6% of you were seriously unimpressed, however, giving a score of just 2/10!
BUT a full 65% of you weren’t happy with the security of your current software.
Possibly one of the most important aspects of an administration plugin or software: security. When handling and storing sensitive medical information it is absolutely necessary that you trust your software to keep your data safe. Fortunately, 33.3% of your responses gave your software a 10/10 for security, though 5.6% of you gave only 3/10, and 13.9% scored your software a 5/10. When it comes to your patients’ data, we really encourage you to invest in the best possible security that you can afford.
Nearly one third of you weren’t impressed by your current software’s ability to integrate with other system
This was perhaps one of the most varied responses. 13.9% of you gave a top score of 10/10, but 2.8% gave your software’s ability to integrate with other systems a score of 0/10! 30.6% of you were moderately satisfied with your current software’s ability to integrate, giving a score of 6/10.
Once again, all of our survey responses varied greatly in your satisfaction with the look and feel of your OMS software. Whilst 16.7% of you were very satisfied with the look and feel, scoring 10/10, 13.9% were only moderately impressed, giving a score of 5/10, and 2.8% were very unsatisfied with the look and feel, giving a score of just 2/10. 19.4% of you are enjoying the look and feel of your current software, giving a score of 8/10.
Moderation is the name of the game here, with a quarter of you giving your software a 6/10 for value. 11.1% were unimpressed with the value of their software, and 19.4% were very satisfied, giving a 10/10 score!
Even the best software on the market can experience some hiccups along the way, and so having experts on hand to help you install, update and run your software well is key to getting the most out of your investment. 16.7% of you thought your software’s customer service was pretty good, giving a score of 7/10, and 13.9% thought customer service was pretty not good, giving a score of 4/10.
